LTD “Reaton” decoration materials used in Mežaparks Great Bandstand

Construction stage of phase two of the most significant and largest construction project of the Republic of Latvia in the field of culture – reconstruction of the Mežaparks Great Bandstand – was completed on 11 June 2021. LTD “Reaton” provided the supply of decoration materials for rebuilding the bandstand and technical building during the process of changing the visual image of the Mežaparks Great Bandstand. During the first stage of phase two, construction of the bandstand was implemented, whereas, during the second stage – construction of the technical and office buildings, as well as territory improvement. Decoration materials supplied by LTD “Reaton” were used during the rebuilding of the Mežaparks Great Bandstand, phase two, stages B1 and B2.

Authors of the design are the Latvian architects Juris Poga and Austris Mailītis. After the reconstruction, the Mežaparks Great Bandstand has acquired the image of a Silver Grove on a mountain of songs, as intended by the authors of the idea. After the reconstruction, the total area of the Mežaparks Great Bandstand accounts for 146,430 m², and the project is recognised at the European level as a unique and complicated one with an individual acoustic solution.

During the reconstruction process of the building of the Mežaparks Great Bandstand, LTD “Reaton” supplied oak parquet produced by “COSWICK”. The range of products offered by “COSWICK” is highly valued across the globe, therefore, in the auditorium of the 1st floor of the building and on the 2nd floor, natural oak parquet conforming to high quality requirements was laid. Three-layer oak parquet “COSWICK” has a “Silk oil commercial” coating, which is intended for highly loaded premises subject to increased abrasion. The uniqueness of “COSWICK” parquet – during the production process, cork expansion joints are used every 15 cm in the birch layer, as well as layer joining technology with glue normally used by NASA when joining plane rigging. Construction of the aforementioned parquet provides higher resistance to temperature and humidity fluctuations proven in objects across the globe over the years.

Overall, during the reconstruction process of the Mežaparks Great Bandstand, LTD “Reaton” has provided the supply of several interior and decoration materials: oak parquet produced by “COSWICK”, “Forbo TESSERA” carpet tiles, synthetic linoleum “Tarkett Optima Multisafe” for the humid areas, “Forbo” natural linoleum “Marmoleum”; in the most significant part of the building – entrance area – built-in doormats “FORBO NUWAY CONNECT” and flagstone tiles of the Italian producer “REFIN” will be installed.
